I listen to the conservative talk shows on a daily basis. I don't listen to them because I believe what they say. I want to know what the current lies are that they are telling their listeners. Every day the Republicans/conservatives/tea baggers lie about President Obama. The most recent lie which has my blood boiling is the lie that President Obama is trying to destroy religion in our country. Another lie is that President Obama hates the Catholic Church. I cannot sit back and listen to these blatant lies any longer. I am speaking out to ask the conservative stations to stop lying. I am asking their listeners to take a look at these radio personalities and to ask themselves if they really believe that these talk show hosts are truly Christians or are they false prophets? I believe that they are the latter.

This is a poll. Please answer the questions and tell me how you feel. Better yet, let the conservative talk show hosts know how you feel!

Are Conservative Talk Show Hosts Lying about President Obama?

Conservative Media Moguls, like many Conservatives, have serious deficiencies in the scruples department and have no problem distorting, exaggerating and outright lying to make their case.

People like Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh make their living exaggerating and distorting the truth.

Lies and distortion create controversy, controversy gets attention and attention is what brings in the bucks. This works well for conservative because they have a relatively gullible audience that rarely discuss issues outside the bubble they live in. .

Btw, I agree with others that have commented about the descrepency between your headline and your poll. The poll re; Obama and the Catholic Church would be fine if you also had a poll addressing the question about talk show host.

And yes, conservative TS host lie about Obama.

No, Obama is not trying to destroy the Catholic Church, he doesn't have to ..... they are doing a fine job destroying themselves.

Yes they lie, it's what they do.

When the GOP base is everything but foaming at the mouth for justification of their hatred towards Obama they will eat it all up and ask for seconds. The people that originally didn't like Obama because he is black now have a full catalog of fake reasons to hate him without letting anyone know they are just racist. (note: I'm not saying ALL Republicans are racist)

FoxNews and Rush Limbaugh know that if they ever changed their rhetoric and started giving Obama any due credit they will disenfranchise their base right before the elections. You think it's bad now? Wait until Obama (hopefully) wins reelection. There will be calls for impeachment for the next four years for anything. If he has another Solyndra type problem or if he gets a parking ticket, they will all be "grounds for impeachment" in the minds of conservatives.

The poster and me would like to see more truth in right wing reporting but until true reporting gets the ratings continue to expect lies and slander.

The difference is that if a person watching one of these shows and notice a preponderance of lying they can just turn to another channel. (Giving the liberal media claim credit) with FoxNews they are pretty much the ONLY conservative "news" channel (At least that's what they have been crying about lately). Even if there was a channel that zero lying and true reporting 100% of the time anytime credit went to Obama on anything, Righties would just dismiss it as another "liberal" news source. They really cling on to the whole Obama hasn't done anything good myth even though you would have to be completely blind to see that things are getting better due to some of his policies.

Oh, I think things are getting better, but I hardly think it has anything to do with HIS policies.

He bailed out GM...big deal. If someone threw that kind of money at me, no telling what I could do.

But there are no other "policies" that are making people perhaps loosen up their wallet, or employers hire.

We still have the same broken income tax system in place, yet NO one from either side wants to fix it....amazing.

So do Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, and Larry O'Donnell.

Of course they do. In your head.

Maddow is a world-class journalist. Limbaugh, Beck, and Coulter aren't even in the same universe as she is, as they haven't got a @!$%#ing CLUE what journalism means. Limbaugh is so bad at fact-checking that sometimes he doesn't even bother to ascertain the correct gender of the people he's attacking. Beck is disconnected from reality entirely, and Coulter does nothing but demonize liberals with her every breath.

I'd ask you to document where Maddow has said anything as remotely ridiculous as what Limbaugh and his hater competitors fart out on a daily basis, but I know there is no such thing, and you are just dropping a steaming turd anyway that you have no intention of backing up with links, so I won't bother coming back to look for one.

In the meantime, let's ask if Maddow has ever pretended to feed poisoned wine to a cardboard cutout of an elected official, recommended talking to the opposition with baseball bats, committed an actual case of real vote fraud (Coulter, who as far as I know has not been prosecuted because, after all, it's @!$%#ing OK if you are a @!$%#ing republican as @!$%#ing per @!$%#ing usual in this world where the @!$%#ing rules do not seem to apply to @!$%#ing mother@!$%#ers on the @!$%#ing right) proposed poisoning a supreme court justice, and so on and and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on and mother-@!$%#ing so on.

The desperate, false equivalence you are reaching for is a pile of bull@!$%#. Period.

But there are no other "policies" that are making people perhaps loosen up their wallet, or employers hire.

Payroll tax cut extentions would. It might not seem like a bunch of money but every bit helps and when the flip side is giving more tax breaks to companies who haven't been hiring in the first place it seems that that is just giving companies more for doing less. What happens when these companies get their tax breaks yet don't start hiring? Oh well? Obama played this well by offering tax breaks for employers hiring inside the US and additional breaks if hiring people unemployed for more than a year in his jobs plan but of course that whole plan wasn't even brought to a vote.

We still have the same broken income tax system in place, yet NO one from either side wants to fix it....amazing

Judging by the ideas put forth by GOP candidates, they aren't interested in fixing it either. Come on, how low of a tax rate do we need from companies for them to start hiring? Zero? And what GOP plan would fix our tax system? Flat tax? That helps the rich and hurts the poor. 999? Same thing. The solutions presented by Republicans fix nothing except the tax burden on the rich while putting the responsibility solely on the poor. Can't say I've ever heard of a tax system working out where the poor carry all the burden.

If the right wing propaganda spewers stopped lying about President Obama, there wouldn't be enough right wingers left to matter.

Someone said it is not a lie if you believe it. Huh ?? That makes no sense to me. Truth is not subjective, it is Truth or it is false.

Most of what the right wingers sling is bull spit and is false.

As far as President Obama trying to destroy Catholicism ?? Who knows what his intentions are in that regard ?? Maybe he is trying to shake them up-the leadership- and say their pedpohile hiding lies and their lack of understanding is revealing them as not being of Christ, but as a supporter of His enemy.

So, it is now Friday morning and I have posted the second question. It appears that about 80% of Newsviners are either Independents/liberals/Democrats with OPEN MINDS and the other roughly 20% are FOX watchers or the like. I am going to ask those of you who believe that FOX is telling the truth to do a bit of research to check and see if that station is telling you the truth. Secondly, I would like one of you in the 20% to explain to me how exactly Obama is trying to destroy the Catholic Church.

Is the Catholic Church and it's members SO WEAK in their faith that ANY ONE PERSON could destroy their church and their faith? If so, that is quite sad. Furthermore, he isn't trying to destroy ANYTHING! Open your minds to the fact that people will lie to get you to think their way. FOX lies because they want you to vote against President Obama. Think about it.

a tweet trick catching me pressing yes in haste before noticing the faint heading over the poll. Now I say with a NO twice over.
The media both D and R, make hay over every talking point to stay in business. one only has to watch Chris Matthew getting into a tis as if he's serious over the issue; while the straight answer is to put all religions in context under the same constitution. Why are other religions not speaking out ?Why are catholic institute employees not asked for their views ?
here's my take:
The abortion /contraceptive issue is for women, The catholic autocracy will be violating the constitution to deprive women's rights. LIBERTY in Law
For the government to entertain catholic dictatorship is to be unfair to other religions. SEPARATION of church and State.

The real solution for the constitutional mandate of Welfare is the long overdue single payer system run by the government, NOT the profit taking private "health" industry. it's very existence puts the human body into the same category as the car insurance industry, the indignity of paying for body part "protection" and arguing for itemized coverage.

Hi Tweetheart, to add a second poll just repeat the process. Click on the "Add Poll" icon in the editor and you will see your existing poll that you can edit or at the bottom a button to "Add Poll". Yes. It is called distraction. They can't discuss the real issues like jobs. They are trying to get the Catholics all riled up. I think that the people who are riled up are the conservative talk show hosts who are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. The fact of the matter is this....if the people going to these Catholic colleges, hospitals and the like don't want to get contraceptives or sterilization, no one is forcing them to do so. If they want it, they should be able to get it.

Agreed, tweetheart. I also feel that if they Catholic church is engaged in a business to make money that is open to the public and hires non-Catholic employees, they should also be required to play by the same rules as every other for-profit business that is open to the public. That includes providing the same level of health coverage, and the Catholic owned for-profit business should not be tax exempt, or exempt from complying with the law just because the business is owned and/or operated buy the church,

As usual.....the Catholic church wants their cake and eat it too. They say it is wrong for their Priests to be predators on young boys, yet, they don't want anyone outside the church investigating any claims against them because it is much harder, if not impossible, for the church to cover up the incidences and/or deny the accusations when outsiders are watching.

And you are right, no one is forcing anyone to use contraceptives, they just have to ensure that they provide same opportunity for coverage of contraceptives those employees who wish to use them, whether no not they are Catholics. Perhaps they are afraid to find out how many of their own Catholics do use them.

You know when the first time I listened to Fox "news" I was amazed to hear Hannity discuss how the President Obama went on a hamburger run and he ordered his hamburger with grey poupoon mustard. He made a big todo out of a selection of mustard.....GIVE ME A FREAKEN BREAK I thought as I listened!! I could not believe that this was a "news" media discussing something so trivial and petty. Hannity just recently said how this President did not really want to go after OBL. WTF!!! Shall we play the tape of then senator Obama at the debates saying how if our intelligence had him in our sight we would take him out. So my answer to your question is Hell Yea they lying and they do not care as long as it paints this president in a negative light for their gullible audience. And until those viewers have enough to tune out or turn the channel, it will continue. I can still remember when this administration did not want Fox to be included in news media events and all the other media thought they were wrong for that; well now everyone is talking how Fox is so biased and straight up lying. So what say you now?

Where do we focus the efforts and discussions that will be best for the country? It sure isn't in the ubiquitous slander and libel the President experiences from conservatives.

However, those aren't news shows anymore than Hannity, O'Reilly, Van Sustern are news shows.....I'm not even sure I'd call Fox and Friends or Morning Joe news shows, although they have more news content than the other previously mentioned shows.

THAT IS A LIE! I listen to the conservative stations much more often than MSNBC, so you can't accuse me of only tunning into the more liberal stations. Here are more of their lies....

        Obama pals around with terrorists.

Obama is trying to take away all of your freedoms.

Obama doesn't want people to work. He wants them to stay on welfare.

        Obama hates the United States.

        Obama is a Muslim.

Obama wants us to turn into a totally Socialist country.

Michelle Obama wants to control everything that your children eat.

        Obama isn't an American.

        Obama isn't a Christian.

Obama wants to take away your guns.

Obama wants to raise taxes on the middle class.

        Obama wants death panels.

Obama wants women to have an abortion instead of raising an unwanted child.

        Obama is soft on terrorists.

Obama takes more vacations than any other president.

These are just a few of the humdingers that the "righteous right wingers" have been spewing since day one. They need to STOP LYING!

kinda like the contraception issue .. if ya don't wanna take it.. don't take .. or the abortion issue.. if ya don't want one, don't get one.. but no.. the right has to FORCE their agenda on others... just live your lives with out trying for force edicts on others.. stop being OPPRESSIVE @!$%#S...

I tried to watch Fox but just got fed up with the obvious lies and had to turn the channel. That simple thing was enough for me but what impact does it have to those who continue to watch it? We have already heard of the recent study that showed Fox viewers are less informed than any other news channel viewers. These are the people that will be voting for the POTUS and on issues. Unless they seek out other sources for information, they will vote the Fox propagandist way probably against their own interest. Then when sh!t happens who will they blame? the POTUS, the dems or anyone except themselves. It's said and could be detrimential to their health and wellbeing. Oh well. Do you think Roger Ailes or Ruppert Murdock cares?

".....but what impact does it have to those who continue to watch it? "

That's where the problem lies. Some people only watch Fox and they tend to hang out with other people that watch Fox, so when they get in a conversation regarding the nations issues, they are all in agreement. This kind of "in a bubble" interaction, where they all agree with one another, is what convinces these people that they are in the right.

We have already heard of the recent study that showed Fox viewers are less informed than any other news channel viewers.

Do you have a link or reference for that study? I would be interested to see how old it is. Because a couple of years ago, I read an in depth Pew Research survey regarding the media, that indicated pretty much the same thing.

That survey also found that Fox viewers, on an average, have a lower level of education. Which is not intended to imply Fox viewers are not intelligent, just that most of them have not gone much higher than High School. Whereas, viewers and readers of more left leaning media tend to have attended at least two years college. The study indicated the more liberal the media, the higher level of education of their audience.

Why blame Obama, I am sure if god saw a problem with it he would fix it.

So trusting, but when one is obsessed, one does not see. Could it be that god is obsessed or is made out to be, by the likes of Santorum et al?

They are trying to make a big deal out of this. The problem is that most everyone can see right through it. Another huge problem is that the only Catholic still in the race is Gingrich. This is a tempest in a teapot. 51% of the Catholics they are trying to rile up are women. It could even backfire on them.

Put it this way...if their lips are moving, words are coming out of their mouths, and they're talking about Barack Obama, they're lying thorough their proverbial teeth.

It's a wonder some of them don't have noses so long they can't get in a car anymore...

I don't listen to them because I believe what they say. I want to know what the current lies are that they are telling their listeners.

I do the exact same thing with MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC...especially NBC.

Sadly, no, he is not trying to destroy the Catholic Church. I wish he was. If there is any organization in history that deserves destruction it's certainly that pack of money-grubbing, misogynistic, pedophilic rapists.

I don't know it seems as though the headline is a double redundant statement.

And as far as Obama destroying the Catholic Church, that is LOL funny. The Catholic Church of the 24/7 Latter Day Perverts, seems to be doing a fine job all by themselves.

On the way home I listen to Ed and Randi Rhodes and switch to Lars Larson back and forth. Hes not so Far right he makes no sense.... The thing I noticed most is Progressive radio Ed Shultz and Randi are turning into the lefts Limbaugh. They are turning into what they supposedly hate for ratings. Ed had a guy on yesterday that no matter how hard Ed bated him to say all republican are bad he couldn't and Ed really tried with question Maneuvers. Add some Vicadin and Oxy to ed and you have Limbaugh these days.

Not only are they lying, they often leave out facts, like that 28 states already require health insurance plans to cover contraceptives; 8 of those states require it with no exemptions, not even for churches or any other religious institution. In fact many major Catholic universities and hospitals, even if they are not located in one of the 28 states that require them to cover contraceptives for employees, do so.

So where were they and where was the church screaming about this then?

Thank you for that information. I am quite sure that many Catholics would be very upset if they had to buy their own contraceptives!

talk show hosts are entertainers, not newspersons.......no one with more than an ounce of gray matter in their heads would think that Limbaugh, Beck, Coulter, Savage, Levin, and their ilk are anything other than entertainers who have found their audience and play toward it........for them, its all about hating Obama.......don't let the facts get in the way.......play into your audience's hatred for this president.....play into your audience's hatred for that congresswoman from San Francisco that stands for everything progressive and evil in this country........ lie about them....sure....so what.....its bound to get better ratings among the demographic you're going after......slander them.....better yet.
