I would have to say that this year, the best gift that I received was that my dad is back home after being in the hospital for two weeks. I haven't done any decorating to speak of. I have bought one gift. No cookies have been made. But, this year, that's not what is important. We get so caught up in the holiday traditions that we forget about all of the gifts that we recieve every day of our lives. Our eyesight, the fact that we can walk and speak, our family and friends who support us, and so many other gifts. A sunrise or sunset. A bird singing. The scent of freshly cut grass. A rainbow. A soldier coming home from war.
We are very fortunate people.
But, just to lighten things up a bit, the best presents that I can remember getting were white go-go boots, a Rolf dog (Muppet), and a doll house that my dad made for me. How about you?
